Chicago Cares, the city’s premiere volunteer
service organization, is an award winning
non-profit dedicated to providing individuals,
groups and corporations with opportunities to
build stronger communities throughout Chicago
through meaningful volunteer programs that make
a difference. We do this by creating, managing
and leading group volunteer projects for
critical human services, educational and
environmental needs in Chicago. We create over
200 group community service projects every
month. Since its inception in 1991, Chicago
Cares has led more than 27,000 community service
projects, accounting for more than 1,150,000
volunteer hours. Over our history, we have
created programs that build the capacity of
hundreds of community partners, including
schools, parks, community centers and many other
social service agencies. At Chicago Cares, we
believe people are the answer to addressing the
challenges we face in our neighborhoods and the
community at large.

Corporate Relations Assistant

Senior Manager, Corporate Volunteer Programs
The YIS Corps Member will be
responsible for the development and management
of youth volunteer projects for Chicago Cares’
YIS Program. These project models will integrate
service-learning components and be utilized for
on-going, on-demand and special event projects
geared towards youth ages 8-18. In addition,
the member
will be responsible for volunteer leader
identification, training and support and will be
accountable for the volunteer leaders’
mobilization efforts. This
position is essential to the growth of the
organization and the quality of youth volunteer
opportunities.

Program Coordinator - Human Service
The Program Coordinator - Human Service will be
responsible for maintaining existing volunteer
service programs assigned to them by the
Director of Programs in the area of Seniors
Services. Although Senior Services is the
primary programming area other areas of
programming will include Disabilities, and
Community Building. The Program Coordinator will
also create new programs according to community
needs and the Chicago Cares expansion plan;
cultivate community partner relationships; and
participate in volunteer leadership recruitment,
training and retention.

Corporate
Relations Assistant
Part-time position.
The candidate will be responsible
for supporting the Corporate Relations team in
coordinating the active participation of
corporate partner teams and stewarding
relationships. The Corporate Relations Assistant
serves a critical role within the Development
Department by supporting the Corporate Relations
team throughout all phases of the fundraising
cycle. The position offers a wonderful
opportunity to gain a wealth of nonprofit
experience while working in a high energy,
goal-oriented environment.

Development
Assistant
The candidate will be responsible for supporting
the operations of the Development Department on
a daily basis. The Development Assistant serves
a critical role within the department by
entering all contributions received and tracking
donor information. The Development Assistant
works closely with the Development Department to
ensure donor cultivation and solicitation
activities are tracked and reported correctly.

Senior Manager,
Corporate Volunteer Programs
The Chicago Cares Service Events Department is
responsible for the development and execution of
all one-day service events, which includes the
Celebration of Service in honor of Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr., the Annual Serve-a-thon and
custom-created volunteer projects through the
Business Shares program. The Service Events team
coordinates all components of these events, from
project development and leadership management to
bus and catering details. The Senior Manager, Business Shares reports to
the Director of Service Events and works in a
leadership team with the Director and the Senior
Manager, Annual Events. The Senior Manager,
Corporate Volunteer Programs has responsibility for the
people management of two Service Events
Coordinators, but will work with all four as
they develop and manage projects for our growing
Business Shares program. Chicago Cares Business
Shares program engages Chicagoland’s top
corporations in partnership to serve our
community through projects ranging from 20 –
1,500 volunteers.
