We will post the date of our 2014 Serve-a-thon as soon as it is confirmed!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 20th Annual Serve-a-thon!
Thousands of volunteers, including Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, raised their hands with us to make Chicago stronger on June 15 and moving forward! To see images and information from the day, visit our blog from the event, links on our Newsroom page, and the 2013 Serve-a-thon Impact Report.
Serve-a-thon is the largest single day of community service in Chicago, when more than 5,000 volunteers come together to make the city stronger and more vibrant. We will transform the city's neighborhoods with volunteer projects that beautify and uplift classrooms, school libraries, playgrounds, parks, and more, serving as a catalyst for change in underserved communities. At the completion of the day of service, all volunteers will gather together for a celebration featuring food, drinks, and live music.
Serve-a-thon is also Chicago Cares' largest fundraiser, allowing us to offer meaningful, year-round volunteer programming that addresses Chicago's most critical challenges.
Serve-a-thon is for everyone! Teams of corporate volunteers, church groups, alumni clubs, families, kickball teams, and groups of friends unite to create change for our city's children.
Ways to participate in Serve-a-thon:
Sponsor – Receive special benefits and have your team of volunteers serve at a project site together (subject to site size limitations).
Team Captain – Sign up to recruit a team of volunteers and serve with them at a project site.
Individual Volunteer – Be placed on a team that will serve at a project site.
Roadie – Perform event administration duties at Serve-a-thon Plaza during morning and afternoon shifts (great for those who can't serve the whole day!).
Volunteer Leader (eligibility requirements) – Manage other volunteers and a project at a project site.
And everyone can take part in our fundraising.
Together, let’s be the solution!
