The Annual Chicago Cares Serve-a-thon is
the largest day of community service in Chicago. On the second
Saturday of every June, thousands of volunteers come together to
brighten up dozens of schools and agencies around the city. The
volunteers - from corporations, community and alumni organizations and
groups of friends - spend the day painting, planting and making a
difference in Chicago. The Serve-a-thon also raises critical funding
for Chicago Cares' year-round programs through sponsorship
and pledge dollars.
