Youth in Service: Adult Leadership Opportunities

Help us engage the next generation in fun, meaningful service projects!  Adult leaders play an integral role in our Youth in Service Program. Youth volunteer projects are managed by one or more adult volunteer leaders.

Youth in Service Project Site Managers provide organization and leadership for the service project and management and motivation for the young volunteer s.

Youth in Service PSMs lead projects on an as-needed basis or can volunteer to lead a project once or twice a month on a regular schedule. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with youth but may not be able to commit to a regularly occurring project schedule!

The Youth in Service Program staff provides project details, curriculum, issue education and reflection pieces and project supplies.  The Youth in Service PSM is responsible for implementing the ‘day-of’ project logistics and engaging the youth volunteer s.

Youth projects range in size from 6-50 volunteer s.  On projects with 20 or more volunteer s additional leaders can help facilitate the project.  Each youth group is required to bring one chaperone for every ten youth.  Youth in Service PSMs can lead as often as they would like in a variety of issue areas throughout the year.  PSMs must attend a short one-time training to get started.
