Youth in Service: Youth Groups and Service Learning

Chicago Cares Youth in Service Program creates, manages and leads service projects tailored to the specific needs of the young volunteer while addressing a pressing need in the community.

All Youth in Service programs are lead by trained Chicago Cares volunteers, known as Team Coordinators, and  many programs have additional leaders known as Crew Leaders to lend a hand at the project.

All types of groups are encouraged to volunteer,  we just ask that groups bring one adult chaperone for every 10 youth.

Getting your youth group volunteering with Chicago Cares is simple:

  4. Register your youth volunteers for the project and have each youth fill out a youth waiver prior to the project date that is signed by a parent or guardian.
