Issue Areas

Chicago Cares has been mobilizing volunteers to serve for over 20 years. No other organization has inspired more people to give back to our city. Our ongoing presence in the community allows us to identify real needs in the neighborhoods we serve and ensures that the projects we create deliver a sustainable impact.

We also provide Issue Area Tours that educate volunteers on the critical needs facing our friends and neighbors. Through service with Chicago Cares, volunteers will discover meaningful ways to be a force for positive change in our city.

• Health & Hunger Programs: Provide food, shelter, recreational enrichment and diginity to people who are struggling across Chicago.

• Environmental Programs: Preserve and celebrate our city's unique natural spaces.

• Children's Programs: Instill a love of learning and healthy habits in children who have limited access to resources.

• Senior Services Programs: Offer friendship and support to elderly citizens facing isolation.

• Adult Education Programs: Teach new skills to adults who are working to refocus their lives for the better.
