Chicago Cares partners with community organizations, schools and parks, allowing them to increase their services at no cost to the organization. By providing high-quality programming and consistent volunteer support, we partner with organizations to be the solution to the challenges facing our city. Our staff works with each community partner to identify their most pressing needs and then creates and manages a project or series of projects that puts volunteers to work meeting those needs in an meaningful way.
Chicago Cares will:
Learn about your organization's mission, purpose and history
Learn how you are currently utilizing volunteers
Work with you to create a program that supports your mission and meets your needs
In addition to supporting the immediate goals of our community partners, our programs serve to introduce your organization to corporations and volunteers who could become long-term volunteers or donors.
Partners may be faith-based as long as our projects support their secular missions. An example of this would be painting or restocking a food pantry located at your house of worship that is open to the general public. No Chicago Cares projects involve fundraising or administrative work. Because our projects are open to youth volunteers, the minimum age of participation is determined, in collaboration with our partners, by the scope of work involved. There is no cost to become a Chicago Cares Community Partner.
All projects are led by trained leaders and staffed by Chicago Cares volunteers. If you operate a non-profit organization, public school, community garden or social service agency and would like to learn more about partnering with Chicago Cares, contact Wendy Neuert at 312.780.0800 ext. 136.
