Director, Administration | Code: DIRADMN18

The Director, Administration provides leadership and expertise to guide the organization’s infrastructure and operations, consistent with Chicago Cares’ mission, strategic priorities, and the needs of our volunteers and partners. They are responsible for leading organizational efforts to ensure a strong, healthy and innovative back office, with particular focus on technology, security and risk management, human resources, finance, and operations. Their role ensures service providers and vendors deliver optimum performance to advance our mission. Key responsibilities include contract management, relationship and vendor management, operational planning, security and risk management and project management related to the core business functions of the agency.

Manager, Capacity Building and Advisory Services | Code: CBASMGR18

The Capacity Building & Advisory Services department seeks to build a culture of volunteerism in Chicago, expanding the reach of Chicago Cares and positioning the organization to be a leader locally and nationally on service. The department is a catalyst for change by promoting diverse civic engagement and equipping civic leaders, young and old. The department supports local communities and leverages the organization’s resources and expertise to help them meet their strategic goals and priorities. The Manager facilitates the development, management and leadership of innovative capacity building and advisory services specifically in our core communities that align with the strategic priorities of Chicago Cares and meet the needs of our community, non-profit, corporate and volunteer partners.

Coordinator, Volunteer Engagement | Code: VECOOR18

The Volunteer Engagement team is responsible for the development and execution of all on-going, multi-engagement, and single-day volunteer service projects that engage Chicagoans as agents of change. The team coordinates all components of these volunteer programs, which vary in size from 10 to more than 1,000 volunteers, from project development and logistics to the education, empowerment and engagement of volunteers at the project. In a city as divided as Chicago, it is essential to offer a new kind of volunteer experience, impact volunteering, where volunteers work alongside community members to understand local issues, work collaboratively to address those issues, and build trust and connection along the way. The Coordinator will be responsible for the development, management and leadership of innovative, on-going, multi-engagement, large-scale one-day and hybrid volunteer engagement models that meet the needs of Chicago Cares, as well as those of our community, non-profit, corporate and volunteer partners.

Project Associate, Volunteer Engagement | Code: VEASSOC18

The part-time Associate will be responsible for providing logistical, administrative, and event assistance support to the Volunteer Engagement team to ensure quality programs and strong execution of volunteer projects.

Coordinator, Administration | Code: COORADMN19

The Coordinator, Administration provides administrative support to ensure the Chicago Cares office and Chicago Cares volunteer projects have the necessary support to run smoothly and to execute our programs effectively and to the highest standards. Reporting to the Manager, Administration, the coordinator ensures that the Chicago Cares staff and volunteers are resourced effectively to meet the mission of the organization. The coordinator executes a set of key administrative duties across the organization’s departments and divisions, as they relate to the operations, finance, technology, and human resources functions of the organization.

Coordinator, Corporate Relations | Code: COORCR19

The Coordinator, Corporate Relations will play a key support role in meeting the organization’s annual corporate revenue goals. They will focus on the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with corporate partners through proposal development, donor data management, and by conducting extensive e-mail, phone, and in-person communication to deepen engagement and increase support. A large percentage of the Coordinator’s time will be spent administratively tracking the extensive existing corporate portfolio and cultivating prospective donor relationships, with the opportunity to manage an increasing portfolio of donor relationships over time. In addition, the Coordinator will also be responsible for event support and other fundraising tasks as assigned.
