Language Exchange at Armour Square: North
Description During the project, volunteers will prepare and serve breakfast as well as participate in cultural exchanges with seniors through guided conversations and a bingo game. Volunteers who speak Cantonese are encouraged to attend!
Transit Information This location is accessible via the redline to the 35th/Sox stop. Walk north on Wentworth; Armour Square is a few blocks north. Volunteers can also take the 35th street bus to the Sox stop. Walk north on Wentworth. Armour Square North is a few blocks north. Street parking is also available.
Community Partner The Chicago Housing Authority provides rental housing to more than 50,000 families and individuals, while supporting healthy communities in neighborhoods across the city. The CHA’s Armour Square Apartments offers subsidized housing for low-income seniors who live independently. Armour Square Apartments has been a Chicago Cares partner since 1995 for this project.
