Social Club at Lunt House (fka Crafts and Games)

By volunteering at this project, volunteers will make an impact on isolation in a LEEDA group home. With the help of volunteers, the pantry is able to serve its guests efficiently in a caring and respectful setting. Chicago Cares’ volunteer projects are opportunities to connect with our neighbors, challenge our assumptions, change how we think and feel about our city, and inspire action – all while making a tangible, positive impact through service.

Description: During the project, volunteers will interact with residents at the Lunt House group home, which provides an opportunity for residents with intellectual disabilities to live a normal and independent life. Volunteers will make crafts, play games, and have conversations with residents.

Transit Information: This location is accessible via the #22 (Clark) bus as well as the Red line (Howard). Street parking is also available onsite.

Community Partner: The Lunt House is part of LEEDA Services, a provider of homes, social services, and job training to adults living with disabilities. Lunt House has been a Chicago Cares partner since 2008 for this project.
