Referral: CPS Annual Academic Decathlon
Description The Annual Academic Decathlon is a nationwide competition that promotes academic excellence through teamwork. Students of all achievement levels are tested on various subjects, such as, Art, Economics, Music, Language Arts and Literature, Mathematics, Science, Social Science. We also include proficiency in Speech, Interview and Essay writing. Students receive training and coaching throughout the school year in preparation to compete on a citywide and national stage. The specific content varies from year to year and is determined by the United States Academic Decathlon (USAD) Board of Directors. The 2019 topic is The 1960s.
Impact Volunteers will help to ensure that students of the Chicago Public Schools have a successful and equitable competitions. They will have the opportunity to give back to the community of inner city youth, while networking with people from other companies and organizations.
