EYH Chicago is a one-day conference held each year to encourage young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers. At the conference, girls can pick from a series of hands-on workshops to attend, including topics such as food science, biomedical engineering, and particle physics. The workshops are led by female professionals from a wide variety of STEM careers. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to gain hands-on exposure to a variety of STEM careers and meet great role models. The goal is to motivate girls, especially those from underserved neighborhoods in Chicago, to become innovative and creative thinkers ready to meet 21st century challenges!

Love what EYH Chicago does? Join the EYH Chicago Organizing committee, a group of 20-30 people made up of people of all genders and walks of life - all dedicated to planning every detail of this conference and making sure EYH is a great learning experience for our students.

Choose a role that plays to your strengths! Each Organizing Committee member works in a small team of 2-4, each team taking ownership of one aspect of the conference (planning workshops, managing facility logistics, running a social media account, acquiring food, recruiting students, fundraising, marketing etc..). Combining our efforts, we make the EYH Conference a success each year!

Volunteers that join EYH Chicago are self-motivated, driven people who want to contribute their efforts to planning this large event. Every Committee Member brings their own innovation and problem-solving skills to the table and, from the start, can directly influence conference planning in meaningful ways.
