Kilbourn Park Organic Greenhouse

Lend a hand at one of the only teaching greenhouses in Chicago. You’ll pull weeds, transplant, and provide help wherever needed, including preparing for the popular annual garden sale. Students frequently visit the greenhouse, and volunteers play a critical role in making sure facilities are well-maintained so educational programs can run effectively and efficiently.
  • This is a rain-or-shine and year-round project; during inclement weather and the winter months, volunteers will assist with indoor projects.

  • Please wear clothing that can get dirty; closed-toe shoes are required.

Partner: The 12-acre Kilbourn Park is the only Chicago Park District park with a teaching greenhouse. Youth, toddler and family programs, as well as workshops throughout the year, allow individuals to discover the world of nature. Kilbourn Park Organic Greenhouse has been a Chicago Cares partner since 2001 for this project.
