Volunteers Connect on Education and Youth: Week 3 Championing Your Cause
For many of us, we are living in a time of disruption. The COVID-19 pandemic and recent protests across our city and nation are proving again that decades of racial injustice and inequity are devastating and deadly. Chicago Cares stands in solidarity with all those who are outraged and grieving right now, and those who are fighting for a safer, more equitable future. Together, we must create a “new normal” that is more equitable and vibrant for all.
Chicago Cares is proud to stand with you as we take time to challenge our assumptions, learn, and take action for policy change. We remain committed to fostering greater understanding, self-reflection, and empathy. That’s why Chicago Cares is proud to launch our fourth installment of Volunteers Connect, a free, virtual program to keep Chicagoans connected and civically engaged during these challenging times. This time, our Volunteers Connect theme is education and youth. There will be a series of four digital opportunities.
We are offering two sessions of the third installment, Championing Your Cause, on these dates: Monday, August 3rd and Thursday, August 6th. Sign up below for one of these two sessions!
Let’s use this exceptional time to build empathy even when we cannot always connect in person – by shifting the conversations we are having, by learning our neighbors’ stories, by educating ourselves on the issues we face, and by asking ourselves how we will be better advocates when this is all over.
