MLK Special: Explore Chicago at Dulles Elementary

Chicago Cares is celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This special project provides an opportunity to learn about and honor the work of Dr. King. Help fourth and fifth-graders discover Chicago’s rich history. Under the guidance of a volunteer leader, you’ll work with children in small groups as they complete reading and craft activities that teach them about the city’s heritage, notable landmarks and architecture, and unique local foods. By supporting this program, you provide a fun and positive environment that improves students’ attitudes about learning and school and also helps them develop social and personal skills by working cooperatively with peers and adult volunteers.
