Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
Referral: African American Christian Foundation - Educational Tutors & Mentors
Volunteer to work with youth (aged 16-24): AACF needs educational tutors in reading, math, and science. Youth mentors are also needed to spend time with an assigned youth client, talking, sharing about experiences, planning and doing activities together.
Volunteers who work directly with youth clients will have a very large impact on AACF's clients' success in education and workforce development programs. Many of the youth clients come from severely economically disadvantaged backgrounds and may have experienced, or may be currently experiencing homelessness, troubled homes, dropping out of school, and many other social problems associated with severe poverty. It has been proven that a person can survive and thrive if they believe that just one person is there for them.
Volunteer Activity Type
Volunteers are needed during hours of operation: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM
(Volunteers can pick specific times that work best for them during AACF's hours of operation)
