Referral: Random Acts of Flowers Chicago

Description Volunteers would do a variety of tasks to fufill RAF's mission: Deconstruction and prep of floral arrangements donated by grocery stores, weddings, and wholesale florists.  Arranging new bouquets that would be delivered to area hospitals and senior care facilities.  Workshop organization (cleaning, sorting, etc).  Pick up flowers at partner sites (varying locations) in Random Act of Flowers Chicago (RAFC) delivery van.

Impact By utilizing and recycling the endless supply of leftover flowers from weddings, special events, memorial services, and retail outlets, RAFC volunteers turn what would otherwise be waste into something fresh and meaningful!

Time Monday through Thursday from 9:30am-3:30pm, and additionally Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30pm

Volunteer Activity Type Collecting, sorting, and packing; Floral arranging; Visiting with hospital patients and nursing home residents

Partner Information Random Acts of Flowers improves the emotional health and well-being of individuals in health care facilities by delivering recycled flowers, encouragement and personal moments of kindness. Using flowers as the vessel, our vision is to inspire and nurture a culture of care and compassion.
