Children & Youth Education

Age Minimum (with Adult): 5+, Minimum Age:5+

Referral: Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory

Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that collects new and nearly new children's items through grassroots community drives and corporate donations. Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers, and are distributed to disadvantaged children across the city through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners. C2C supplies these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need.
Shifts in the Giving Factory (located at 4141 W. George Street, Chicago 60641) give volunteers the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and sort, organize, and quality check the items donated to Cradles to Crayons.

Since our founding, the Cradles to Crayons vision has been to create a future where childhood poverty no longer exists. To help make this a reality, Cradle to Crayons has adopted a mission to connect communities that have with communities that need. Every day, Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12 with the essentials they need to thrive — at home, school and play. Thanks to their amazing network of volunteers, families, corporate donors and service partners.
Cradles to Crayons works with over 7,000 families, individuals, community groups and companies to serve over 30,000 children every year in Chicago.
