Healthy Start at Oakley Square

Introduce new healthy foods and flavors to children at a mixed-income supportive-housing community. During the program, you will work with a group of children to complete a recipe and master cooking basics. By participating, you will encourage children to make healthier nutrition choices and give them the confidence to try new foods. Children will also learn cooperation, communication, and problem-solving skills by working with their peers and volunteers.
  • Easy El access: Blue Line

Partner: The Community Builders, Inc. is a supportive-housing development organization that builds and sustains strong communities in which people of all incomes can achieve their full potential. Oakley Square has been a Chicago Cares partner since 2013 for this project.
