Description
During sessions, volunteers are matched 1:1 with a youth with a disability end engage them in physical activity. KEEN has sports and swim sessions. Volunteers receive an orientation prior to their first session with our athletes.  KEEN volunteers are asked to fill out an application here.

KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) is a national, nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational and social opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals.

Impact
KEEN Chicago is a small nonprofit with one staff member. KEEN recruits volunteers to engage 1:1 with their athletes during sessions. KEEN provides unstructured sports activities that these kids would not be able to experience otherwise. Volunteers truly make an impact at KEEN as they help a kid with a disability develop new skills and interact with their peers.
